Privacy Policy
Deepest Point is intended for players aged 13 and over. This page explains what the game stores about you, why, how long we keep it and how you can delete it. We keep as little as we can: the game does not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, birthday or location, and we do not sell data or show third-party ads. If you email our support, we receive your email address with your message, and if you buy Gems, the payment is handled by our payment provider (see below).
Who is responsible
The data controller is Energiatesti.com Oy (business ID 3176949-6), a Finnish company that runs Deepest Point (deepestpoint.online) under its registered auxiliary business name Rusty Drill Games. Address: Tähtääjäntie 48, 90540 Oulu, Finland. Contact us through Settings → Help & Support in the game, or by email at support (at) rustydrillgames.com.
What we store
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Account ID and sign-in session | To keep your mine yours. A guest account is created automatically; the session is a random token stored on your device. | A session ends after 90 days without use, and ended sessions are removed after 98 days. Unused guest accounts are deleted after 14 weeks. |
| Google sign-in (optional) | If you link Google, we store only Google's account identifier so you can recover your mine on another device. We do not store your Google email or name. | Until you delete your account. |
| Save and progress | Your mine, ship, Gold, items, achievements, pass and cosmetics, so you can continue on any device. | Until you delete your account. |
| Gem purchases | When you buy Gems: which pack, the price, the time, the status of the payment (paid, refunded or disputed), when you agreed to immediate delivery, and the payment provider's reference numbers for the checkout and the payment. We need these to deliver your Gems, to handle refunds and to keep the accounting records the law requires. We do not receive your card details, name, billing address or email address from the payment provider. | A checkout that was never paid: 35 days (60 days if the payment was still on its way). Paid purchases: 7 years, as accounting law requires. If you delete your account, they are kept without any link to you. |
| Gem balance and items bought with Gems | Your Gem balance, the number of Gems your game reports you have earned by playing, what you have bought with Gems and when, so that your items follow your account to every device and other players can see the looks you own. | Until you delete your account. |
| Player name, tag and avatar | Shown to other players on leaderboards, in the lobby, in companies and in Quick Match. Names with contact details or offensive words are refused. | Until you change them or delete your account. |
| Scores and results | Daily Dig, Weekly Rush, league and company boards. | Boards are kept for a limited number of weeks; your rows are removed when you delete your account. |
| Friends, companies and recent players | Friend list, requests, blocks and mutes, company membership and chat, and the players you recently played with. | Recent Quick Match partners 7 days, company chat 30 days; other entries until you remove them or delete your account. |
| Lobby chat | Messages in the public lobby chat, filtered on the server for contact details and offensive words. If our team removes a message, we keep a record of the removal: the author's account ID, the removed text and the reason. | Only the latest 100 messages are kept. Removal records: the removed text 30 days, the record 1 year; deleted with the author's account. |
| Reports | When you report a player or message we store the reason and a short excerpt so our team can review it. The reported player is blocked for you immediately. | Excerpts 30 days, reports 90 days. |
| Support messages | Your message, game version and platform, and your account ID, used only to handle your request. If you email us, we also store your email address, the sender name, the subject, the messages and any attached images. | An answered conversation closes after 30 quiet days and is deleted 180 days after closing. |
| How you found the game | When a new account is created, which campaign link (for example a link in one of our social media posts) or which other website (its name only, such as reddit.com) brought you to the game, if any. We use it only to see which channels bring new players. We do not store the full address of the page you came from. | Until you delete your account; it is deleted with the account. |
| Abuse protection | To limit spam we count requests per account and per network. In these counters, network addresses are stored only as hashes made with a secret key, never in plain form. | Most counters are cleared within two days; company activity counters within 7 days. |
| Server logs | Our hosting provider keeps a log of requests to the game servers: the network address, browser, approximate location and the page or action requested. We use it only for security and to fix errors. | Up to 7 days. |
Why we are allowed to use this data
- To provide the game you asked for (a contract with you): your account, save, progress, player name, friends, companies, scores, support requests and Gem purchases.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe and fair and in understanding what brings players to it: abuse protection, chat filtering and moderation, reports, server logs and the record of how you found the game.
- A legal obligation: accounting law requires us to keep records of purchases.
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.
On your device
The game stores your save and settings in your browser (local storage and IndexedDB) so it works offline. If you arrive through a campaign link or from another website, the game remembers that on your device for up to 30 days, until your account is created. Your sign-in session is kept in a cookie that the game needs to work, and signing in with Google uses a short-lived cookie for the same purpose. The game does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing the site data removes the local copy; linked accounts can be restored with Google.
Who can see what
- Other players see your player name, avatar, company tag, scores, lobby chat messages and the looks of your ship. Guests appear as "Miner".
- You can block or mute any player, and hide your online status with Appear offline.
- Our support team sees support messages, reports and the lobby chat, and can remove lobby chat messages that break the rules. Staff email addresses are never shown to players.
- Our team can see your purchase records (pack, price, time and status) to handle support requests and refunds. The payment details you give at checkout, such as your email address, are held by the payment provider; we can see them in the provider's dashboard when we need to handle a refund or a dispute.
Service providers
The game runs on Cloudflare, which hosts the game, its servers and databases. Google provides optional sign-in. They process data on our behalf only to provide these services.
Payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland) on its own checkout page. Stripe collects the payment details it needs, such as your card details, email address and country, and processes them under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). We send Stripe only the pack you chose and a random order number, never your account ID or player name.
These providers may process data outside the EU and the EEA. When they do, they rely on safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Delete your data
Open Profile → Account → Delete account and tap twice to confirm. This permanently deletes your account, cloud save and progress, your Gems and the items bought with them, profile, friends, company membership, board rows, reports, lobby chat removal records and support conversations linked to your account. It cannot be undone. A few things stay for a limited time: a record that the account existed and was deleted (its random ID and dates, with no name or save), ended sign-in sessions (up to 98 days), shared party mines you played in (up to 90 days without use), a company name you reported (up to 90 days in the report) and emails you sent to support that are not linked to your account (until their normal deletion). Records of Gem purchases are kept for 7 years for accounting, without any link to your account. You can also ask us to delete your data, or to tell you what we store, through Help & Support or by email.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to ask us to restrict how it is used and to object to how it is used. Contact us and we will help. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. In Finland this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and tell players in the game when the change matters.
